Walnut Creative onside with charity football fundraiser…

Our very own Glen Crossland has signed up to take part in the special Foodservice Charity Football Match which is fundraising for the families of the Manchester attack victims.

The match has been organised by Marc Sumner and the team at H2O Publishing, to gather together this in the foodservice industry to lend a helping hand to those affected by the tragic attack last month.

Kicking off at 7.30pm at the Squires Gate Football Club in Blackpool next Wednesday, the match already has 28 registered players from across the industry – but Marc is hoping to get this up to 36.

Each player will be donating £25 and funds are also being raised through an online Just Giving page which automatically enters those donating into a raffle to win some fantastic prizes including signed Ricky Hatton boxing gloves, an Apple Watch, cocktail hamper and much more.

Walnut’s marketing manager Liam is also doing his bit and stepping up as videographer of the event and will be heading to Blackpool with Glen to catch the players in action.

“Walnut Creative are extremely happy to be part of this fantastic event, we are all totally behind the fundraiser after the devastating attacks in Manchester, and will be donating £50,” said Glen.

“I think it’s fantastic that the foodservice industry can come together like this and show their support for such a worthy cause.

“We urge everyone to dig deep for this fantastic cause and head to the Just Giving page to donate by clicking here.”

Walnut on tour!

The Walnut Creative team have been down to Birmingham last week to visit the Commercial Kitchen Show.

The team have had a fantastic couple of days catching up with clients and industry friends who were all there to make the most of the specialist exhibition at the NEC.

We made our way down to show on Monday morning to lend a helping hand to some of our clients who were exhibiting at the show and in the process of setting up their stands and getting organised.

The two-day show saw the best and brightest in the catering industry come together to showcase their products and services, it was great to see so many fantastic firms showing off what they can do.

Snapchat for foodservice marketing?

Social media is an ever changing trend, from MySpace to Twitter and now more recently Snapchat, the social media app for sharing your photos.

Snapchat was released back in 2011 and since then has created a frenzy of youngsters looking to take photos and videos to share them with their friends, with three billion snaps being sent around the world every day.

In the next few years, Snapchat’s popularity grew massively, even more so when it introduced the Snapchat Stories feature, which allows you to create a 24-hour feed of pictures and videos, and has been imitated by the likes of Instagram and Facebook in a bid to follow the craze for live content sharing.

Video Content For Social Media

When creating content for social media, it’s important to take note of current trends and what is currently seen as the most successful type of content to share. Right now, video is an incredibly popular form of media for use within digital marketing campaigns, and we want to talk about why.

When the audience scrolls through Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media platform, they are seeing a lot of content at once. Users will only stop and view something that catches their eye, and words alone aren’t usually enough to do this. Images are a great form of content to use within social media as they can be eye catching if used correctly, but a successful video will hold their attention for much longer than an image giving you time to get your message across within the video.

If you can hook the audience within the first 5 seconds of the video, you will have a much greater chance of keeping them watching until the end, this is why creating interesting content is incredibly important in any marketing campaign. You get to share your message, and your audience gets to enjoy entertaining content, it’s a win win situation.

Video can also be a great way to get across a more ‘human’ vibe from your social media accounts. By sharing video content which features members of your team, you will become a much more relatable company whilst being seen as humans rather than words on a screen.

Video content can also be key in sharing your brand image, by creating interesting content which also features your logo, you are associating your brand with the entertainment your audience just participated with. This is incredibly important for marketing as you want your audience to associate your brand image with something positive to create brand affinity.

Finally, video content is the best way for you to tell a story over social media. Whether it’s sharing information on a new product, or simply showing a day in the life at the office, you will create content that is much more engaging, and ultimately will contribute to the success of your marketing strategy greatly.

Here at Walnut Creative, we offer video services that aim to enhance your marketing strategy greatly! If you would like to discuss this, give the office a call on:

fluid websites increase in importance daily…

As the face of marketing continues to change and the benefits of mobile suitability are not only considered but become a key part of any website or campaign, it’s important to take into account why and how this is happening and how you can adapt with the times to get the most out of your online presence.

Over the last few years the number of mobile users on the web has risen dramatically. Research shows that around the beginning of 2014, daily use of the internet via mobile surpassed desktop users, meaning that it isn’t simply a theory that mobile users make up the majority anymore, it’s fact.
